Mt McLoughlin @ Large

Yesterday I lost the trail for awhile, which reminded me the importance of preperation. It’s not enough to know how to use a compass, you have to bring the compass.

Towards the top of the climb, the sand slid underfoot,  so each step felt like half a step. And a 15 foot tall twister coming down the trail left me hiding behind a rock. Still, I loved the climb!

The descent, not so much. Note to self: bring compass and map; do not lose your car; and be thankful for the kindness of fellow travelers. Humbled (which means I only have the ego of 8 1/2 men now).
