Philosophy Friday: Media for $

Why no media coverage of Standing Rock? Let’s take a closer look. Five companies own all the main stream media and each company does a very good job of not saying who exactly owns them. I did find that according Nasdaq, Chase Bank and four other financial companies control the top 5 institutional holdings of Time Warner. And yes, Chase Bank also helped fund the North Dakota Pipeline. Hmm. Does this sound like a conflict of interest?

Do we have freedom of speech if corporations own the media? Infomercials must state they are paid programing, should corporate media be required to do the same? And if corporate media falls in the forest, but no one is there to hear it; does it still make a sound? Your thoughts?

YAR!
